Berry Creek Rancheria of Tyme Maidu Indians of California is a Federally Recognized Native American Tribe located in Oroville, California. As a sovereign government, we honor the strength of our ancestors, uphold the wellbeing of our citizens today, and protect the future of our Maidu people for generations to come.

Who we are...

The Tyme Maidu people have lived in the land now known as Butte County since time immemorial. This means that our history, our worldview, and our relationships with the land, water, and non human relatives in our ancestral territory stretched back to the beginning of time. Our relationship with this place drives our work. We know how important it is to protect these relationships so that our children and grandchildren can continue our ways of life into the future.

We are committed to preserving our cultural identity, exercising our sovereign rights, and providing essential programs that support the health, education, and economic stability of our citizens. Through housing initiatives, youth and education programs, cultural preservation efforts, environmental stewardship, and community services, we work to ensure that our people thrive.

Our responsibility extends beyond the present moment. We invest in sustainable growth, cultural revitalization, and long‑term planning to safeguard our traditions and strengthen our future. Every decision we make reflects our dedication to the next seven generations.
